The BowlsLink membership is integral for the running of our sport and as such maintaining good data integrity is vital. Our sports data needs to be accurate, complete and consistent to ensure we can report accurately.
One aspect of this is avoiding the duplication of membership accounts.
Here are some important tips to avoid duplicating a membership record.
- When a new person joins your club ask them if they have previously been a member of another bowling club. If the answer is yes you will need to either invite or transfer the existing record. For more on transfers click here
- If the new person has never been a member of another club or you are unsure you can add them as a NEW MEMBER in BowlsLink under the ADD MEMBER option.
It is important to have as much information as possible about the member as this will help prevent adding a duplicate members.
When the member is added BowlsLink will run a duplication check and a message similar to the one below will appear.
Should you receive this message do not press CONTINUE ANYWAY? unless you are 100% sure the person you are entering is a completely different person and a new person to bowls. This is unlikely to occur when two people have the same Date of Birth and surname but could occur with a common surname and year of birth.
To come out of this screen just click Members on the left hand member or back. You can now instead use ADD EXISTING MEMBER and enter the National ID number to invite or transfer the member to your club.
Should you have any issues please contact State or Territory Administrator or BowlsLink staff at bowlslink.com.au
