The latest BowlsLink update is now available for Club Administrators. This release contains several improvements and upgrades to BowlsLink with 38 changes occurring from minor fixes to some more significant developments that should improve user and administrator experience within the system.
A significant improvement has occurred within the competition area for both competition administrators and BowlsLink users in adding teams or team mates to competitions.
Previously members could only be added to competitions via the National Identification Number (NIN) which was often a difficult process as these are not widely known by individuals or administrators.
The new process will allow a member to be wildcard searched by surname and if needed club to find them from the BowlsLink database and entered into the competition. It is worth noting that upon being selected the person will still need to meet any criteria of the competition such as participation type, financial status, age, gender, club, league, region or district and state eligibility.
In conjunction with this change the system will however block any critical member information such as Address, DOB, email and phone which has the potential to be misused from displaying to any other competitor adhering to the strict privacy principles of our sport. Administrators will be able to see contact information (email and mobile) only.
Other changes worth highlighting include the ability to directly email BowlsLink Club Administrators through the Email Campaigns area. This is something Bowls Australia will soon be using to provide more direct information to administrators in BowlsLink about system updates, case studies, along with webinars, training and support information.
Bowls Australia BowlsLink Manager highlights these changes and others in the BowlsLink v1.33 Release video.
Bowls Australia encourages clubs to get in touch with their Club Support Managers for help on how these new features might help your club.
Club Administrators and BowlsLink users can also find training and support materials at two websites.
