Intro to member transfers #
All transfers are now handled via the BowlsLink system.
Depending on your state, there are a few rules and requirements before transfers can happen or be approved. To see your state rules and requirements click the link in the table below:
VIC | https://www.bowlsvic.org.au/pennant/clearances/ |
QLD | Contact bowlslink@bowlsqld.org for any queries |

Multiple scenarios can happen in BowlsLink for a transfer. Below is a flow chart of the transfer process. Through this course, you will learn the basic way to complete a transfer as if you were the club receiving a new member, to approve a transfer as the club the player is leaving.
If you have any questions on transfer, please contact your local state office.
Initiating a transfer #
When a player wants to join your club, you will need to do the transfer through BowlsLink. To start this process, you will need the member’s National ID number.
Please Note – if you cannot find the member with a SEARCH contact your State Body (if intra-state) or Bowls Australia via bowlslink@bowls.com.au (if interstate) for the Member ID. Never Add as a New Member for someone who is transferring.
Please click the PLAY ⊳ button and watch the following video on initiating a transfer.
Approving a transfer #
As the club the player is leaving, depending if you have archived the player already or not, you might be asked to approve the transfer in BowlsLink.
Please click the PLAY ⊳ button and watch the following video on approving transfers.
Also as the club the member is leaving, if they are not archived and do not have a registered email, you will need to approve the transfer on the member’s behalf. You will receive a further email as well, please click approve to have the transfer continue.
Once the transfer has been completed, as the administrator you will need to make sure the member has playing rights (Membership category) and is financial.
Please click the PLAY ⊳ button and watch the following video on updating membership details.
Member joining as a secondary club member #
BowlsLink members can be members of multiple clubs in the system, with one club being their primary club. If a member wants to join your club as a secondary member e.g. as a social member, you can invite them through the system for them to come into your BowlsLink membership list.
Please Note – if you cannot find the member with a SEARCH contact your State Body (if intra-state) or Bowls Australia via bowlslink@bowls.com.au (if interstate) for the Member ID. Never Add as a New Member for someone who is transferring.
Please click the PLAY ⊳ button and watch the following video on how to invite a member to join your club as a secondary club.
